My favorite tv show when I was a kid and still is my favorite. I have watched every episode several times and never get tired of them. Adam west was the best part for playing Batman and so was very ward. Yes, I'm talking about Batman the tv show aired 58 years ago this week.

Batman

In 1966, a Batman feature film based on the contemporaneous Batman television series was released. It starred Adam West as Batman, Burt Ward as Robin, Cesar Romero as the Joker, Burgess Meredith as the Penguin, Frank Gorshin as the Riddler, and Lee Meriwether as Catwoman.

If Adam West had not been chosen to play Batman in the 60's TV show, what other actor could have portrayed the character? Actually, they did have someone else read as well for the role… Lyle Waggoner. They did two screen tests.

West and Ward remained friends until West's death on June 9, 2017, at age 88. Ward, Julie Newmar, and Lee Meriwether are the last surviving main cast members of Batman.

Alfred would often dress as Batman when Bruce and Batman needed to be in the same place at the same time.
